Whether for daily individual prayer, or group engagement like Lectio Divina, the people of St. Paul’s pay attention to their Scripture texts. Here are the weekly readings and also the base prayers for the Prayers of the People.

The Prayers of the People are intercessory meaning they are not long-established and oft repeated as is the case for the Prayer of the Day and the Communion Prayers, rather the Intercessory Prayers are to be of the contexts the people find themselves in -in the immediate term. The Prayers of the People are intended to voice immediate pressing concerns to God. The Prayers of the People are ideally to be voiced as prayers by members of the the people rather than their professional pastor.
